A note from our Founder

I Thought
I Knew Coffee.

I knew my usual cup. I did not know how much more there was to discover.

The Part I Wanted to Share.

I had no idea coffee could taste like that. One cup changed what I thought was possible.

While traveling, I was served an amber-colored pour-over. It was delicate and full of flavor, unlike the coffee I had known. I had been drinking coffee for years, but this felt like discovering it for the first time.

What stayed with me was the possibility: something so familiar could still be surprising. I wanted to share that feeling through the coffee people make every day.

That is why I started Zaya. A small collection gives you room to get to know each coffee, follow the flavors you enjoy, and discover a different direction when you feel curious.

Zaya Coffee

Behind the Name

To us, Zaya speaks to fate—the unexpected encounters that lead us somewhere new. For our Founder, it began with a cup of coffee discovered while traveling, revealing flavors he never knew coffee could hold.

Our distinctive lettering draws inspiration from Ethiopian writing, honoring coffee’s roots. Today, that spirit of discovery lives in every origin we share.
